I like these development of patterns by Betsy Walton, I spotted in the Catalogue of Hand drawn pattern: Over & Over, some of the pencils are like that of In the City book, I feel these are successful mark making strategies but the greyness is the only thing that really really ties them to their original inspiration. I don't particularly enjoy working in pencil due to the grainyness and the lack of colour in the grey.
