Dulux Colour Awards
I couldn't believe how apt everything about the Dulux Colour Awards was. It makes me feel like my work could be bang on trend if I work at it. Firstly all their sets have been made of chipboard, although I haven't worked on it, I did look at it at the beginning of term when I was making choices. It is quite a good decorative wood for backgrounds etc. I have also recently began working with different shades of oranges and salmon oranges. The theme is also 'Everyday+' so finding 'the wonderful in the normal' this is similar to what I am doing by choosing the lanes as my visual inspiration. They also championed Zoe Murphy at these awards who is a huge source of inspiration for me, as she screen prints on wood, but she prints directly onto furniture. furniture could be a potential context next term, the only issue with that is sourcing as I don't have much cash so would be needing to sources these pieces as cheaply as possible. Her colours are also gorgeous.
