I had a look in the childrens book section of the illustration area in the libary. As sometimes I find useful colour and pattern research. This was one of those times. The pink and orange is a wonderful warm colour scheme, it does appear to work better on the white though, because they begin to blend when on top of one another. I have included the last image because it is a completely different colour scheme but also I like the filling shapes with pattern part. Simple shapes in varying sizes but the interest comes from the detailed pattern.
